Beach wraps“Pareo” originally were worn by the aboriginal people of Tahiti and Hawaii. On this islands, pareos ware used as an all year tropical wear. (All seasons, all year around.) Pareos were used as a garment by both males and females on the islands. The only thing what changes was the color decoration of the fabric. What should you look for in Pareo? Well, look for the durable material, capable of handling salty sea water and lots of sun. I like light fabrics, such as polyester or silk, because they don't get so course in the sea water and don't irritate your body as much as cotton does. See, that happens is next: cotton absorbs a lot of salty sea water, and then sun dries the moisture - you have all salt on your wrap irritating your skin. Since, cotton "like" water so much and cotton fabric absorbs a lot of it - you have plenty of salt stack on you bringing irritation to your skin. Same happens with silk, as silk also absorbs and retains salt from the sea.
The best Tropical Pareo are from the polyester. Polyester is not a delicate as silk and not as heavy as cotton. Polyester Tropical Pareo absorbs no water and hence retains very few drops of salt. As a result - your skin does not irritates as much and you can move freely in the sun.
If you going to participate in a lot of activities on the beach, like playing volleyball or other games - think about our skin scrabbling against salt infested fabric. You will get irritation on your skin, and you don't want any of that especially at the beach. Skin Irritations, besides leaving a mark will make you feel pain and discomfort in the evening. ( Then you go to restaurant) So, choose polyester tropical wear - absorbs no sea water and retains no salt. (Just my personal advise. )
