Is Acrylic hat as good as wool hat?
Acrylic is much less warm and much cheaper artificial fabric. Wool is made from the hair of the ship. (No harm is done to the ships, they just shave them to get the hair. These animals actually enjoy loosing all this fluff before summer heat. For them it is like getting a hair cut. ) Ship's hair is natural protection for the animals in the cold season. All the time what goes into growing, keeping and feeding the ships attributes to the cost associated with pure wool. So, 100% wool hats are more expensive then compared with artificial fabric hats.
Why use wool then?
No amount of the acrylic in your hat will protect you against the cold as pure wool. Acrylic hats are as warm as a piece of plastic. (Just appearance and no warmth).
Are Wool hats are more stylish then Acrylic?
Yes, Wool hats are more stylish then acrylic. Since, wool is much warmer fabric you can use less of it in the making of hat. So, the hat looks much more thinner and goes gently over you skin.
But wool is itchy?
It will depend on the quality of the wool. If you use cashmere and mohair - it will not itch or irritate your skin at all. Just small portion of mohair or cashmere in the wool blend hat will make these "babies" feel you right at home.
