Features   Features This silk scarf is inspired by the Renoir dance at bougival painting. This 36"x36" silk scarf is made from 100% pure silk. Edges of this scarf is carefully hand rolled and stitched - common practice used in production of expensive silk scarves. Medium weight silk is used to make this scarf. A few words about Renoir dance at bougival painting: Dance is a beautiful activity which brings joy and happiness to the participants. Dance is used to express joy and happiness, yet something is uneasy in this painting. Joy and Happiness is missing from the expression of this dancing female face. Why? Well, it is believed what two factors have contributed to this. Factor one: personal believes of Renoir , Renoir is probably the only great painter who has not produced a single unhappy painting. All his works are showing happy people in the happy places. Yet then looking at “dance at bougival” - one may consider this painting to the exception, as dancing women on this picture appears to be unhappy. Then examining this picture – one can see women has it mouth open, but shows no smile. Many critics agree, what Renoir has intentionally painted unhappy women during the dance. He was looking for the way to show her discomfort – and has chosen her face expression to do so. Why did the great painter did it? Why did, the great painter disliked dancing women? Some believe that Renoir was a nervous man with contradictory ideas about most things in life. He believed that women should be domesticated, practical being. Some consider what Renoir disliked active women, hence painted unhappy dancing female. Factor two: personal acquaintanceship of Renoir to this same person he has painted. It is believed what Renoir had known this woman in the red hat and had disliked her in the real life. Thus, he has expressed his personal relationship with the subject in this picture.
